History
Agape Eagles Cathedral
which is also known as Agape Christian Church was
founded on the 4th of March 1990 by Bishop Joseph G.
Makwakwa assisted by his lovely, dedicated wife, Dr.
Deborah V. Makwakwa and now the Senior Pastor of Agape
Eagles Cathedral Pretoria.
In his quest to impact South Africa, Bishop Makwakwa
planted other sister churches throughout South Africa
and appointed Pastors who are called by God to oversee
to the effective running of those churches in line with
his God given vision.
About Us
We are a multipurpose
church with a vision based on the following five
pillars:
•
World evangelism focused
•
People’s uplifment committed
•
Ministry to the emotionally wounded
•
Morally relevant
•
Holistic prosperity.
Foundational Beliefs:
Mark 12 : 29 and Mark 16 : 15-1
|
• |
We believe in God
the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one God who
exists in three Persons. |
|
• |
We believe that
Jesus Christ is the only Son of God through whom
we are saved, by God's grace and not through
works. |
|
• |
We believe that He
was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless
life and died on the cross to pay the price for
our sins. He rose on the third day, ascended
into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of
the Father. |
|
• |
We accept Jesus's
divinity and that He is the only mediator
between man and God. |
|
• |
We believe as
believers we are all part of one Body of Christ. |
|
• |
We believe Jesus
will come again for His bride, the church, and
to judge the world. |
|
• |
We believe the
Bible is the inspired word of God. |
|
• |
We believe the
person of the Holy Spirit is actively working
through believers today. |
| |

What We Believe
We believe that God has
raised us to reach our city with the message of
salvation, forgiveness, caring and racial
reconciliation. We also believe in the unconditional and
undying love of God, in preparing young people for the
future by teaching them leadership qualities. We also
believe that as a church we have social responsibilities
to the citizens of South Africa irrespective of their
colour and language. We believe the bible is the
infallible word of God.We also believe in the Trinity of
God namely: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy
Spirit.
