CIMA FOUNDATIONS COURSE -
 

CIMA Training - Founded in 1919 as ‘The Institute of Costs and Works Accountants’, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants offers an internationally respected management qualification. There are more than 60,000 registered students worldwide. The current syllabus was first examined in 2001. Exam sittings for Intermediate and Final level papers are in May and November. Foundation papers are examined throughout the year by Computer Based Assessment.

 

 

 

CAT Training - The ACCA introduced its Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification in 1997. There are over 25,000 students worldwide registered for the CAT examinations. A new scheme of CAT examinations has been introduced. The first sitting will by June 2004. The final sitting of the old scheme was examined in December 2003; there will be no transitional period between old and new schemes. Examination sittings are in June and December.

 

ACCA Training - Formed in 1904, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is the professional body for Chartered Certified Accountants and Certified Accounting Technicians. The ACCA is the largest professional accountancy body in the UK. It has over 320,000 members and students in 160 countries, with 70 staffed offices. The current ACCA syllabus was examined for the first time in December 2001. Exam sittings are in December and June. CBE's (Computer Based Exams) for papers 1.1, 1.1 International or 1.2 can be sat at most times during the year. ACCA will be introducing mandatory CPD for its members from January 2005

 

AAT Training - Founded in 1980, the Association of Accounting Technicians is sponsored by four of the major accountancy bodies in the UK:

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).
There are more than 88,000 students and members worldwide.

Education and Training Scheme

The AAT’s Education and Training Scheme is based on Standards of Competence, providing NVQs/SVQs in Accounting at Levels 2 (Foundation), 3 (Intermediate) and 4 (Technician). The revised standards are now being examined. Further information and content details are available on the AAT website. (Note that the Standards of Competence changed in July 2003.) Assessment
